Although we are a provider of adventurous outdoor activities and the arts, Mobex North East is, first and foremost, a leading personal and social development resource.

Yes we have an impressive catalogue of outdoor specialisms and yes we have an exciting programme of arts activities, all of which help us successfully deliver activity sessions to hundreds of young people each year. But Mobex North East offers much more than a fun day out. We do not provide activity sessions for the sole outcome to be fun. Our mission and purpose are more complex than that. 

Our approach is unique. We understand that learning does not have to be boring. Neither does it have to be a chore and something to fear or dread. We understand that combining enjoyment with learning new skills and facing new challenges can reap great rewards. 

Our activity sessions are fun and enjoyable and focus on developmental learning. 

We are not just about climbing or canoeing but recognise the importance that experiences such as these can have on a young person's learning and personal development, whatever their ability or circumstances.

As signatories to the Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto, we wholeheartedly agree that:

"learning outside the classroom is about raising achievement through an organised, powerful approach to learning in which direct experience is of prime importance. This is not only about what we learn, but importantly how and where we learn".

In order for us to help our groups achieve their goals of personal and social development, we are wholeheartedly committed to reviewing.

Reviewing is an excellent development tool as it assists in:

• Talking through an experience
• Learning from the experience
• Improving
• Testing whether objectives have been achieved
• Transfering what has been learnt to other areas
• Building on the experience as an individual or a team
• Looking at individual strengths and experiences

Mobex North East is committed to reviewing as:

• The sessions we deliver are learning experiences and should be developmental
• Reviewing the experience adds another, unique dimension to our outdoor and arts pursuits 
• Reviewing is absolutely integral to what Mobex works towards and aims to achieve - "to provide learning opportunities for groups of young or disadvantaged people from the North East, to enable them to fulfil their potential using development training...leading togreater involvement in their communities, either as leaders of as more active participants"
• We feel there shouldn't be a difference between delivery, fun and development

Although reviewing is something we encourage, we are very flexible in our approach and are eager to listen to your specific requirements and design a programme of activities around your exact specifications.

There are different levels of reviewing and we can design a suitable level of review that will most benefit you and your group, your aims and objectives. 

As our motto states, we aren't "just climbing". Mobex North East offers a complete developmental learning package combining exciting outdoor adventure and arts activities with working around issues and skills such as communication, group dynamics, dealing with feelings, taking account for others, self esteem, confidence and social skills.
