Schools Project

Mobex North East is a personal and social development resource for schools.

We have developed a number of activities to support and complement the school curriculum. Much of our delivery works hand in hand with lessons on PSHE and Citizenship but can also cover other aspects such as history, science or geography.

We are registered to deliver ASDAN Short Courses and Wider Key Skills.

Whether you have students with behaviour problems or students who are potential leaders, Mobex North East is able to design a development programme to cover your schools and your students' needs.

We are not just about climbing or canoeing but recognise the importance that experiences such as these can have on a young person's learning and personal development, whatever their ability or circumstances.

We want to support schools that nurture innovation and understand that the activities we offer can develop a range of mental and physical skills that are transferable to other aspects of learning.

As signatories to the Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto, we wholeheartedly agreed that:

"learning outside the classroom is about raising achievement through an organised, powerful approach to learning in which direct experience is of prime importance. This is not only about what we learn but importantly how and where we learn."

School Inclusion Project

As a Development Training provider Mobex North East can point to successful work regarding behavioural and lifestyle change, raising achievement and aspiration as well as confidence building in all knids of areas (people with disabilities, people with health problems, people who have offended, people developing vocational skills). Mobex North East designs programmes that tackle low self-esteem, offending behaviour, stress management, understanding and managing risk; plus programmes designed to encourage other kinds of lifestyle change, i.e. towards a more active lifestyle.

The Mobex North East School Inclusion Project was established in 2001. The aims of the project are:

The project currently works with Pupil Referral Units from Tyne and Wear and County Durham.

School Inclusion Project groups are involved with a whole variety of different activities covering the whole outdoor and arts spectrum.

Here, a group of young people get really stuck into their mask making!

This group had a splashing day Open Canoeing!

Overnight residentials such as camping give young people the time to reflect and work on issues such as communication, dealing with feelings, taking into account of others and confidence

For a rush of adrenaline, gorge walking offers a thrilling experience and the chance to build confidence trying something completely new.

Having worked successfully as a team to reach the end of the journey through the deep, dark underground tunnels of the Nenthead Mines provides a great sense of achievement!

Here, a young person pushes himself to his limits enjoying the challenge of rock climbing!

Using Mobex North East's in depth knowledge of local activity venues and our instructors' wealth of experience and skills, The School Inclusion Project provides new learning experiences for young people through both outdoor adventure and the arts in order to help develop personal life skills, social skills, trust and confidence.

If you and your Pupil Referral Group want to join in the action and see for yourselves just exactly how Mobex can help you all achieve your aims and objectives, please give us a call on 0191 2302830.
