The Dragons Walk - Harbottle in Northumberland to the Drakestone - created by participants from Walker Challenge a Social Service mental health support group.

A 'Drake' is a Dragon and legend has it that a Dragon lived in the wilds of Northumberland. One day she was returning home after a viscious fight, her throat sore with all the belching and throwing of flames. To cool her throat she stopped to take a drink and noticed an intense pain in her mouth. Almost at once one of her teeth fell from her mouth and landed at the top of the hill. As the years passed the tooth calcified and became stone - and that is why it is still known as the Drakestone.

Based five minutes outside Newcastle City Centre, Mobex North East endeavours to be the foremost provider of informal education and development training utilising the outdoors and the arts for people regardless of their age, ability or background. We have worked with clients throughout the North East region since 1991 and deliver activity days to over 3,500 people per year.

As a Charity Mobex North East has been delivering specialist development programmes to young people from disadvantaged areas of the North East since 1991. We are specialists in the design and delivery of activity programmes that complement the work of youth groups, schools, colleges and universities, mental health groups, disability groups, Youth Offending Teams, the Probation Service and many, many more.

As an organisation, Mobex North East has finely tuned the ability to use outdoor education and creative experiences to provide high quality and innovative programmes to agencies working with young and older people in the North East. All programmes designed use activities as personal and social development tools. Some of the key areas developed through the informal education process include:

We are literally able to operate anywhere in the delivery of our courses.

Costs - Mobex North East endeavours to keep costs low and will work with you to provide activities within your budget - we will also support you in any funding applications you are developing that contain the delivery of outdoor activities.
